Connecting Your Instagram Account

Connecting Your Instagram Account

ReplyLink requires a connection to your Instagram account to monitor comments and send direct messages on your behalf. This guide explains how to set up this connection securely.

Instagram Integration Requirements

Before connecting your account, make sure you meet these requirements:

  • A valid Instagram Business or Creator account
  • Admin access to the Facebook Page connected to your Instagram account
  • Compliance with Instagram's platform policy

Connection Process

Step 1: Prepare Your Instagram Account

  1. Ensure your Instagram account is set to Business or Creator mode
  1. Make sure your Instagram account is connected to a Facebook Page
  1. You must have admin access to both accounts

Step 2: Connect Through ReplyLink

  1. Log in to your ReplyLink dashboard
  1. Navigate to Settings > Connections
  1. Click "Connect Instagram Account"
  1. You'll be redirected to Instagram's login page
  1. Enter your Instagram credentials and click Log In
  1. Review the permissions requested by ReplyLink
  1. Click "Authorize" to grant access

Step 3: Verify Connection

After authorizing, you'll be redirected back to ReplyLink. You should see:

  1. A success message confirming the connection
  1. Your Instagram username displayed in the Connections section
  1. The status showing as "Connected"

Understanding Permissions

ReplyLink requests the following permissions:

  • **Read access to comments** - To monitor comments on your posts
  • **Direct messaging access** - To send DMs to users who comment
  • **Basic profile information** - To display your account details in the dashboard

Disconnecting Your Account

You can revoke ReplyLink's access at any time:

  1. Go to Settings > Connections in ReplyLink
  1. Click "Disconnect" next to your Instagram account
  1. Alternatively, you can revoke access from Instagram's settings

Troubleshooting Connection Issues

If you encounter problems connecting your account:

  1. **Error: "Authorization Failed"** - Try clearing your browser cookies and attempting again
  1. **Error: "Insufficient Permissions"** - Ensure you have admin access to the Facebook Page
  1. **Error: "Instagram Business Account Required"** - Convert your personal account to Business or Creator
